Hassaan Mackey & Apollo Brown's Daily Bread

American automobile manufacturers arent the only ones keeping Detroit on the map these days. One of the bright spots for Detroit in recent years has been the amount of quality music being created and released out of the D. We are all familiar with Slum Village, J Dilla, Eminem, and D-12, but for the most part, Detroit emcees, and producers have often missed out on the recognition they so rightfully deserved. Even as far back as the 1980's, Detroit was producing quality Hip-Hop music, but it went mainly unnoticed  throughout the rest of the country. Turn the page to the present day, and its impossible to talk about Hip-Hop music without talking about Detroit. I cant imagine where Hip-Hop music would be today without some of the music being produced in Detroit, or D.C. and  North Carolina for that matter. In a world of manufactured rap songs that come pre-packaged with a dance, it is refreshing to hear an album such as Haassaan Mackey and Apollo Brown's Daily Bread. A short drive with your radio tuned to your local "#1 For Hip-Hop and R&B" station could make almost anyone forget why they began listening to Hip-Hop in the first place. If you happen to be one of those people, this album will do everything to remind you of why this is more then just music to most of us. It is an art, a lifestyle, and a frame of mind. This is the type of album that you sit back and listen to alone, just so you can soak it in without distraction. I urge everyone to purchase Daily Bread and continue to support the music that you fell in love with. I'll post a link below to the recently released single "Something" off of Daily Bread.

Peace
